Morning, Thursday again - already, which means a new challenge over at Charisma.
This week the theme is SUNSHINE COLOURS, we would love to see your creations, as always there are some fantastic prizes.

Initially I lost my mojo for this challenge, but after a lot of thought and a good old rumage or mess making, I found these small craftwork card blanks, and routed round the Penny Black box and came up with these, I got a bit carried away and made loads! Some dont currently have sentiments on as I thought they would be good in case of emergenct and I can add on something suitable. I made a batch of thankyous to send out from Emmie for her birthday presents.
I heat embossed them, water coloured them, then added some glamour dust to the stamens.

Well by the skin of my teeth I made the time scale for the less is more challenge! My little lady decided to sleep last night! lol, I think all this warm weather has thrown havoc on her sleeping, poor little love. I knew I wanted to use butterfly's, but no idea what to do, so I just had a little play!
I am clearly in a purple mood at the mo!

Pardon the scew wiff pic, I have a crawling baby trying to assist!

I used a white card blank, a strip of purple card mounted with 3d foam onto some pretty DCWV paper, the out line of the butterfly's have been doused with glamour dust, and the sentiment is Hero Arts.

Hello, I hope you are all well. I'm sorry I have not been able to comment on all your blog's blogger is playing up! It's Wednesday again - already. Which means its another challenge over at My Mum's Craft Shop. This week we would love to see your creations for boy's. We always need a card for a boy, so what better than to take part. Yesterday we celebrated my baby girls 1st Birthday, we feel very lucky to have her, it has been a crazy year, with her being born 9 weeks early, and having had several complications.

I just love Penny Black stamps, if I could have one of each of them, I would be the happiest girl in the world, - where I would put them all is another matter! lol
I love Saturdays as it's Penny Black Saturday Challenge, and Less is more this week, they have yet again, another fab challenge.
I think I have gone into 3 of the square segments, and I was going to add a sentiment, but I could not make up my mind for what occasion, so I have left it for now! I have water coloured and used promarkers on the image having heat embossed it. Not a speck of glamour dust in sight!

Well my fave colour is good old girly pink, in no particular shade, here I have used pinks. The card is Core'dinations, papers were free with a magazine (the front sheet has come off and I cant remember who they are by) the image was coloured with promarkers, glamour dust and sparkly gems added.

I cant believe it's the weekend again already, and that were nearly half way through the year - scary how quickly time is going.

Here is a card I made using two Penny Black flower images and a script background, all were cut out using nesties.
The script background was stamped using distress ink, the main image was stamped in black ink and heat embossed then coloured with water colours. The base of the card was stamped with the flower heads in versamark clear ink, and heat embossed with clear powder. I then added some dots to the mustard coloured card.

for not getting round to visit all your blogs. I am having computer "issues" hoping I can get my laptop fixed this week, the port where you put the electric cable has come loose, and will not power up!!!! So annoying, as have my whole life on my laptop!
I am on the ancient old laptop, which is super slow, does not have word, and likes to jump screens, so incredibly frustrating as you can imagine!
Oh well, at least the sun is shining. xxx

It's another Charisma Challenge, this week, we would like to see anything but a card, again, there are some great prizes to be won.

I struggles with this one, after lots of thinking! lol, I remembered I had brought a decopatch set at a craft fair, so I made it. I really enjoyed doing this, I think it could be addictive! Oh dear!!! lol.

In real life the areas that look red are in fact pink, it is really bold and bright, I have put it in Emmie's room for now.

I joined fat club today, so I'm off for a cupa, muller light and a slimming world bar of chocolate! yum.x

Boo bank holidays over

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend, and enjoyed the royal wedding> I thoroughly enjoyed it. Kate was so composed and all round brilliant, fancy having to speak in front of all those people, and walk up that isle, which must have felt like forever. I hope they will be very happy, and are now allowed to have some special time together away from the spot light.
Anyway, this is how we enjoyed bank holiday Monday, we went to Paignton Zoo with some friends, I nearly brought home a giraffe! lol

Morning, what lovely weather we have had, a whole weekend in the garden - was much needed, I have full respect for the strength of weeds now! lol Our shamefully neglected garden is now a pretty lil picture - and don't my legs know it! lol

I apologise for not posting the candy winner yet, I will give blogger/me one more chance to upload the random.com image otherwise I will just announce it later - I am trying to not let it beat me, but the days are passing!

I have made this card with one of my fave stamps, its so much fun and always makes me smile, I think I was inspired by our lovely blue sky's we have been having. I coloured her with promarkers, mounted the main image with 3d foam pads, then heat embossed the sentiment, and also 3d mounted that. The 1st blue layer of card I stamped a background Penny Black butterfly stamp in versamark to add some pretties. Oh and not forgetting a dousing of glamourdust in her wings!

Morning, can you believe it is Thursday again, thank you to everyone who stopped by and left lovely comments about my sweet tree - it went down a storm at the weekend.

This week at Charisma the theme is:

BLACK, PINK & GREEN

It had me a bit stumped to start with this challenge, but I got this lovely new stamp out (which I brought at the craft show at Bristol a couple of weeks ago) I have eyed it up for ages, but seeing it in real life, I had to have it, lol.....

I stamped the image in black ink and used clear embossing powder to make it shine, and drew a boarder around it. I added a green strip of card, a ribbon and some bling gems. It took me about a week to decide what sentiment to add on/be brave enough to add on, as I did not want to ruin it - as I quite like this one! What a wimp, after all, I could have made another!

I will be back later today to like it to some challenges.

Where has the sunshine gone?

Morning, hope you are all well and have enjoyed the oh so lovely weather we have had over the past few days, but where has it gone? It was nice whilst it lasted, but I'm hopeful it will return. We have rain forecast for the day - but it is yet to appear albeit it is very overcast! Anyways, I love this image, I have had the stamp ages, and as I always (normally) make square cards, it has never fitted, but I decided no more - it needs an airing! lol

I love the rich red card, and the DCWV glittered paper, it gives it a bit of a special regal feel. I don't know why I have not used this stamp until now - I'm so daft as it is the perfect image for a male card. I added diamond glaze to the propeller to make it super shiny, and I coloured the craft work card dots with a pro marker to make them match.

Sweet Tree and candy

Hi, I just wanted to say a very big Thank you to everyone who has left kind comments in relation to my sweet tree. I will get round to THANK YOU all individually I promise.

Sweet trees are a part of our business at Big Event Boutique, they came about by messing around for a friends party, we did a sweet bar and wanted something a little bit different - voila!

I have made this sweet tree for my cousin Sarah, who's anniversary it is this weekend, like me she has a naughty sweet tooth. I have started making sweet trees to compliment the sweet bars that we hire out, flying saucer trees are by far the most popular, yum yum....

and here is my little Emmie or Lula Belle as we call her modelling it! lol.

Dont be allarmed it's intended wont mind Lula Belle touching it, as Sarah, my cousin is her god-mama to be.

The sweet tree is made of flying saucers, in the base there is jelly beans, mushrooms and of course mini tubes of love hearts. Now to wrap it up in loads of cling film. x

Here is a card I made last night while watching Glee - I love Glee, I would live to go and see the musical later in the year.

The image is Elzybells, sadly they have closed down now. The papers are from My Mind's Eye, and were a free set with a magazine, I coloured the image with promarkers, and added loads of glamourdust, and a cute craftwork cards sentiment. I used punces from Stampin up, EK sucess, Marther Stewart, and some nesties to cut out the image. I don't know why I have not used the brown bazill before now, but I an in love! lol...

Two posts in a day, this is what happens when I clean the craft room! lol....
Over at Clean & Simple they have a sketch, I had to play along, I came across my quickcutz snowflake die and a bit of glitter cars, and got cutting.
Here are the two cards I made.
The sentiment was stamped with white ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder with a stamp that came free with a magazine last year.
I am looking forward to batch making this year, I am going to use the lovely big snowflake from cuttlebug.

Happy Monday every one. Another week is here, and were a quater of the way into the new year - scary how fast it's going! It will be Christmas before we know it.

Well I had a little play in my craft room last night, well it did start out as tidying it up, but that did not last long! lol I found these little flowers I have had forever and decided to make a little notelet card, I have these flowers in several colours, and thought I could make several in different colours, they are very quick and simple to make. It's not my most favourite creation, but it;s good fun.

Morning world, hope your are all well. Well this is the first morning in about 2 weeks I am feeling human! lol, Little Lula slept through and seemed settled for the first time since her op last night - so 2 happy bunny's today, which is great as were of out shopping with my Mum later to get Lula a pretty dress for a christening and my brothers wedding, fingers crossed Monsoon at Clarke's Village has some uber bargains.

Hello, what a lovely sunny day it has been here in Somerset today, the sun shone all day and gave us a taste of summer, I do hope its a good one.

Well I have managed to make a couple of cards, which I throulghly enjoyed doing.
I made this card for my friend Sascha who has been in a car accident, she is super fit, and I can imagine she is climbing the walls with a broken collar bone and sore knee! It's a good job she is a tough cookie.

Charisma Thursday & an update.

Well it's a Charisma DT holiday for me this week - Thank you Carly.

I had the week off as my little girl went back into hospital on Monday to have her corrective surgery.

She has amazed me every day since she was born back in June - 9 weeks early! She was born at week 31 weighing 3lb 6oz, after my waters went at week 29 - reason unknown. At 5 weeks old 36 weeks gestation and 5lb 2oz my little Lula Belle (Emmie) was coming home we had done the discharge paperwork, I was going in to stay overnight with her to bring her home, and when I went in the hospital she was back in an incubator, being treated for all sorts of infections, and we were told we could lose her. Unbelievable as hours earlier she had been fine. We had to wait 24 hours for the labs to do their thing, and we were finally told she had septicemia, and altough not out of the woods she was getting better. What a relief, so the next morning we had a phone call to get to the hospital asap as she was going to Bristol for emergency surgery - they would not tell us why, when we got to the hospital we were told she had necrotising entrocolitus (NEC) two words I will never forget. We went to Bristol and the amazing Mark Woodward who performed her op gave us 3 possible situtations to the awful infection that is NEC. NEC is basically a premmie thing they dont thankfully all get it, and they dont know why they get it. NEC is where the gut, or parts of the gut die. (Septicemia was as a result of her perferated gut) The best option would be to cut out the bad bit and sew her up, middle option cut out the bad bit, give her a stoam, let her grow and recover and put her back together when she is bigger and stronger, and the third was there was nothing they could do! The wait felt like an eternity. We were lucky, and had the second option, a stoma, our beautiful little girl had what we called a tummy bum! It has been emotional, and funny, and frustrating amongst many things, but at the same time we are eternally greatful for it, as without it - we would not have her.

Today my beautiful brave little girl came home, which is amazing as yesterday she was still on morphine.

I can honestly say I have never been so excited to see poo in a nappy! And now she's showing off about it and there is no stopping her.

So as life returns to normal, and I am not wresteling with stoma bags and wandering baby hands, I am hoping the bath/tea/bed routine will no longer take 2 hours each evening, and I will be able to do more crafting, and be a much much better blogger. x

Morning. Can you believe it's Thursday again? Firstly I would like to apologise for my absence again!!! As some of you know my baby girl was born too soon, and had a few complications. She was sheduled to have an op at the end of January, however due to her having the cough/cold that I think every one had it was cancelled. Thank fully it has been resheduled to the end of Feb - so fingers crossed.

In the mean time we have visited various hospitals/doctors having appointments etc. I cant wait for the day when they don't need to see her anymore.

Also we have been very busy promoting our business, and I think all the hard work is finally starting to pay off, as booking are coming in.

Can you believe it's Thursday again??? I don't know where the time is going - scary!

This week over at Charisma the challenge is Magic Numbers - any number you like, as long as there is a number on it.

Here is my card, suitable for a 50th, no one in particular in mind, I just decided to make a few quick cards and use some of my yummy papers. I think this card is better suited for a man.

I'm sorry for being such a bad bad blogger, it's all systems go here, we are doing our up most to promote our business and the bookings are starting to come in. I will be listing some yummy craft items on EBay over the next day or so as we are having a gucci new web site built and its not cheap - but Will give the positive professional image we want people to see.
Then my tenants moved out of my house having trashed it, its almost back up together but what a long slog its been! Don't you just love free loading, wasters?! The saying beware of the man with nothing to lose is sadly so very true. On a brighter note QVC has craft day starting at midnight, and its almost the weekend. x

I'm so daft, I made my card using Penny Black Zooalphabet's and used a C as a G!!!! I didn't notice until I was sticking it all together, so I had to make an eleventh hour job, I'm not happy with how it turned out, but never mind, its defo better than nothing, and a Good Luck card spelt wrong! The light was also poor which has not helped as it looks really washed out, and you cant read the sentiment, however IRL, it is pastelly but pretty.

I've had these big flowers for ages, they are so lovely, the sentiment is Stampin Up, I used heat and stick, then the glitter over the top, you know how I like a bit of sparkle! lol, the blue card has been stamped with my brand spanking new Marion Emberson polka dot background stamp from QVC. I stamped it with versa mark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

(Sorry cant get this pic the right way round) I brought this bad boy a couple of weeks ago at a craft fair - and nearly wet my pants!!! Sorry to much info - but I had had had to have it, it is rather amazing! I don't really want to sell it but its just stayed in the box since I go it home as good old life just gets in the way! So good old boring common sense tells me I don't really need it, I have battled with myself since these thoughts begun! lol.

Hello, I'm so sorry for being such a bad bad blogger of late! I've been here there and everywhere with my little girl (mostly hospital appointments for one reason or another) but fingers crossed we have a date for the op and fingers crossed it will just be the regular checks all preemies have until they need to go no more!

Anyway - this weeks challenge had me stumped! So after a lot of thought of things I could make and use! I came up with Christmas day favour box's, I know the pic looks a bit boring, and if I had thought about it better and was not racing against time to meet the deadline, I would have taken a pic of inside the box, so much more interesting, full of retro sweets, flying saucers, jelly beans, love hearts, white mice, bon bons candy sticks and so on, a little box of yummy fun, so I have a few more to make they will all be made from diffrent sheets out of the same stack of yummy sparkly paper.

I cant believe I found this so hard as we sell laser cut favour box's on our website, I couldn't have cheated that bad tough and used on of these! We are about to re brand in the new year, as we have outgrown our current name and it does not do our biz any favours as we have sooooooooooo much more to offer.

Afternoon, hope your all well, and your homes are all ok with these bad winds we have been having, were keeping everything crossed our house, fence panels stay in place. Last year at our old house we had a huge trampoline find its way over the fences into our garden - wernt we lucky? : ) shame it belonged to the little girl a couple of doors down lol, it safely made its way home.

Anyway onto today's card. No surprises another Penny Black image, coloured with promarkers and glamour dust to the wings. The card stock is all coordination's, sentiment is from craft work cards, those little sparkly gems are like mirrors, they are lovely, I don't know what shop they are from as I brought them at a craft fair.

Is anyone going to the craft fair at Taunton on Sunday??? I'm in two minds at the mo! (Cant believe I'm saying that out loud! lol)

Charisma Cardz DT - Sympathy

Morning all, hope you are well. I'm wearing my poppy with pride today, may all our lost hero's rest in peace.

Anway's onto a brighter note, I cant believe it's Thursday again already which means Charisma Challenge day, this week the theme is Sympathy, I again initially found this one quite hard, as I wanted one of those gorgeous scrolly sentiments saying something about sympathy. So I graced every single craft shop in the area, came away from each one with no said stamp, but a few pounds lighter! lol....

To make I used, Penny black image coloured with big & juicy, all card from stash, fiskars border punch, and the sentiment is one from a good old Penny Black transparent set. I also heat embossed the image &sentiment with clear powder.

Yes this card is sporting some real sparkly bling! I brought these ages and ages ago for something I had to have, and never got round to it! As you do!!! lol So I decided they were far to pretty to be sat in a draw, so out they came.

Morning, I cant (well I can) believe how early I'm today, I'm off to visit with the babe's and babies from SNICU, so excited to see them all I could pop! As I'm up in plenty of time might go and brave the Sainsbury's toy sale! Have a few hours till I need to be there.......

I have decided to be ruthless! If I have it, have not used it or do not use anymore, its neglected and in serious need of TLC! So I am in the process of listing some lovely craft stash on EBay. Charisma Cardz DT

Another week! Where is time going?! Well we have spent most of the last week at various hospitals/doctors with the little lady in prep for her op next year - fingers crossed all is heading in the right direction!

Anyway in the mean time it's Thursday again, which means it Charisma Cardz Challenge again already!

This week the theme is to make a matching pair of things! You choose, and we cant wait to see what you create. There are some fab prizes up for grabs as well, so go take a peek.

Here is what I made, and in good old Sally style I dropped the box, had chocolate balls everywhere, and it all popped apart! Typical, but never mind hay?! I had to chuckle and chase the chocs before my dog helped to pick them up!

To make I used various punches, Papermania card stock, ribbon & sparkly gems from my stash, versa mark ink, clear embossing powder, acetate, Penny Black sentiment,and some lovely chocolate balls.

Hi, hope you all had a lovely weekend, here's what we did yesterday! We showcased our sweet bar (pink and white version), the latest addition to Balloon Boutique! It went down a storm at the wedding fair, so hopefully the bookings will start rolling in. I am so impressed as there are so many organised girls out there who are not getting married until 2012 and they are getting sorted right now! Wow, only wish I could be that organised! We planned ours in 4 months! I'm sure I would have been doing the wedding fair rounds tough if we had been panning so far in advance. It was so lovely to see so many happy excited ladies.

We were at Bicton House, Devon, and the sun shone through the windows all day long - it was lovely. x

Bad bad blogger! I lost the will with it yesterday, so my sincere apologies for the late post.

This weeks challenge at Charisma the theme is 'VINTAGE' there are some great prizes up for grabs so head on over and take a look.

I have to admit, I struggled with this one a bit, but I thought traditional, the paper is DCWV and has vintagy style writing, I put diamond glaze over the NOEL even tough you cant see it! I ran the red card through the big shot in a cuttlebug folder.

Evening, I can't believe it is Thursday again, time is flying by, and its got so cold, I really don't like the winter, but never mind.

I decided to make a box, I downloaded the template from Canon! It was really easy and straight forward, I just love the curved top.

Here is a little card I made last night and went way over the top with the glamour dust! lol Oh well never mind hay?!

I used a Penny Black image, coloured with promarkers, added a tonne of glamour dust and mounted on to nestie cut shapes.

OMG!!! Where has a week gone? I cant believe it's been a week since my last post, apologies for being a bad blogger. I've not even done much as I've had a rather agro baber on me hands! Over at Charisma Cardz Challenge this week the theme is Autumn Colours, there are some fantastic prizes, prize 1 is 5 digital stamps from Pink Cat Studio, and prize 2 is a $20 gift voucher from Simon says stamp.

Here it is my very 1st DT card for Charisma..................... This weeks theme is

For this card I have used a Penny Black image, I stamped it with versamark and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The sentiment is one I brought from SallyAnn yonks ago when she had her EBay shop. I mounted it onto matted silver mirri card and embossed the spotted card with a cuttlebug folder.

Cant believe I am posting this soooooooooooo late today, I am absolutely cream crackered, my feet have not touched the ground since last Wednesday! I could do with some wee earned R & R, however little lady has decided cat napping is the way forward! lol

Hi, Hope your all well. Just to let you know if anyone is after a bargain, I will be putting some Stampin Up pens and stamps, Lili of the valley stamps, pro marker aqua markers on EBay tomorrow. They are all brand new, just neglected and looking for a home where they will be loved as they should be.

Well I'm pooped and off to bed, Bristol Children's Hospital is one manic place! Then big job on this afternoon, and baby has it about her! Bless.

My name is Sally, and I am a Penny Black Addict! lol I made this card earlier in the week, but was in two minds weather to put it on here or not due to the dodgy sentiment stamping! Oh well, never mind, I like the image to much not to share it.

I coloured it with promarkers, stamped a second balloon, put diamond glaze on it and cut it out and mounted it with 3d foam.

As promised her is a pic of my new bits and bobs! A few of the Penny Blacks were 25% off, so it would have been rude to have left them behind! lol......

I love my new eye shadows! That's what I call them, but they are like perfect pearls from the lovely ladies at Butterfly Kisses.

My huge new Mather Stewart punches were out the box's at first cup of tea stop. I love it at craft fairs stopping for a cups and people watching, every one is admiring their shiny new stash, chatting away all excited - I could do it all day, I love being around happy people it's so infectious.

Well now it's here I best do something with it, other than just look/stroke/smile at it. I sound like a right nutter!

Evening, well you can see my most amazing news, but I'm gona tell you my brilliant day anyway. I want to say the Exeter show was fab, I spent a small fortune (my birthday money all saved up especially for the occasion). I went with my Mum and Emmie, I have not been out with my Mum since June, due to Emmie coming soooooooo early, and it was our first day out (of many) all together and it was brilliant, we even did afternoon tea.

I brought lots of bits, I will post some pics later. The lovely ladies from Butterfly kisses did very well (as per usual) out of me, I love their stand it always inspires me. Then another stand had all Penny Black wood backed stamps at 25% off, so obviously I got a tad carried away, then there is the Mather Stewart punches.

So after a great day out with my 2 fave ladies, I got home, checked my emails only to find Carlyann had emailed me to say I had made it onto the Charisma DT, can you believe it? Out of 176 entry's I was one of 6 new peps chosen. I am so chuffed, I'm still smiling, I am so grateful for the opportunity, and hope I don't let Carlyann down.

Then whilst checking my emails, I have had a business order, and I went out for a consultation last night and got a great big order, so all in all I had one of the best days in ages, and I am chuffed to bits. Hoping the happy/lucky faries stay around. x

Whop whop - today has finally arrived, all be it I would much rather be asleep in preparation for lots of walking and pretending the crowds are not there! lol But little lady is being good in making sure Mummy does not over sleep! lol Cant be upset as she has just started smiling - and it melts me every time.

Well my first stop will be to see the lovely ladies at the Butterfly Kisses stand, and I have a list of Penny Blacks I cant live without! lol So note to self buy it as soon as I see it with those lovely ladies, as they sold out of so much so quick at Taunton a few months back, I love there cards.

I.m off for a cuppa to kick start the day, it's gona be a long on as I then have a wedding consultation this eve, and the lady wants loads (in her own words) as soon as my new web site is built I will add a link.

Morning, I think this is the earliest I have ever posted! lol, my little lady slept through until 5.45am, not bad since she was last fed at 10pm. Hoping for a better day today as she had it about her yesterday!

Anyway, here is a card I made using a Penny Black image, I do love Penny Black images, especially the flowers. I coloured this one with big & juicy ink pad - I have a new found love of these ink pads (my poor pocket) lol.

I used an ek success border punch and two stampin up punches to create the sentiment element. The sentiment is an Elzybells stamp. Talking of Elzybells, it's so sad it's closing down, however they are having a huge 70% off sale, sadly I missed out on the sentiment set I wanted, but I soon got over it as I brought quite a few bears (which I will have to learn to colour!) and girls and bits and bobs so gona start postie stalking.

I am loving this maternity leave life - today's plan is to put together my wish list for the Exeter craft fair on Thursday. I saved my birthday pennies for it!

Here is a card I made for the Crafters Companion challenge which is a sketch, I love a simple layout, so I had to play along. I used one of my new Penny Black stamps, coloured it with a big and juicy ink pad and added glamour dust to the pollen parts of the flowers. The image was cut out with nesties and mounted using 3d foam pads, I then added sparkly gems to finish.
